Modern vehicles rely on hi-tech electronics for controlling almost every system in them from engine management to entertainment systems and climate control. Today’s auto technician needs to understand both the mechanical systems in vehicles and the electrical/electronic systems. They need to develop diagnostics skills that will allow them to find and repair faults in any vehicle.
Our automotive training resources have been specifically designed to allow the creation of a technology-based training facility for teaching the skills this new generation of vehicle technician will need. Our resources enable both teacher-led instruction and individualised, self paced-learning. This can be delivered either within a local area network or via the Internet. Practical activities using a range of simulators and real vehicle component trainers promote hands-on skills aspects of working on automotive systems and we address diagnostics skills through troubleshooting activities at both system and component level that teach generic maintenance and faultfinding skills. We also focus on the use of professional diagnostics scanners and test equipment to diagnose faults in real vehicles
